Metaltråd ærbeide

This was a great project because  of the material we could choose material as in interior or gullsmed , when starting I had an basic idea of making a car but that was proving very hard so I started with something simpler I took a copper coated aluminum string and started twisting it I soon saw that I had to find the balance spot on things which I got better at by doing an exercise balancing a can of battery with liquid in it the balance spot was only achievable when there was enough liquid in the can. So I thought I could make the balance spot smaller so I took everything out of the can and bent in the middle now the balance was hard to find but my eagerness to do things lead me to find the balance. I tried this also with a cut of burn can and it worked perfectly. Now I knew how to find a got balance in the object that I was making. I took up the  string of twisted aluminum and found an old led from a computer  I put it at the top of the string and put a copper plate over the led to make a good shading effect or how the finished product would look like. This is how.

After this light I made I was eager to make more things that had good balance  so I thought why not make a flower so I started to cut up aluminum cans that we recycled by using it in this project and piecing them together to make a flower in this experiment I used a string of black iron it proved to be stronger and harder to bend and twist. The base of this flower was a salamander foot that I formed in my hands and then hit with a hammer on the floor to make straight as possible I connected tha twisted up string and the foot together and it stood perfectly this made for a great decoration .

In jet another attempt at balance I used aluminum strings and now only copper plating to make the flower I put a circle shaped base which rose from the ground up and made a great challenge balancing. But at the end worked as seen here.

All of my projects work in almost all environments and might be used as decorations or shining light at the book you are reading the whole project was a fight against gravity but at the end I always won.  We were supposed to put our  project in to the environment that it should be in there I used Photoshop to put my  project into their place in the pictures I used the contras settings to make the picture seem brighter and also a little blur effect around my objects to make them stand a little bit more out from the background.

Tegneoppgave del 1

Tegneoppgave del 1

This project is one were we were to find four paintings of our favorite artist I choose Banksy because of the “graffiti” street art. He does most of his works are either stencils or big paper photos put on walls with glue. Banksy often only uses grayscale or black and white, sometimes he uses colors. 'the black and white gives the picture massive contras which draws the eye towards his paintings. He is a very political artist and works much with paintings such as the in the lower right corner.

this one was actually for the box decoration, but landed in the drawing of a box with shade on it I got a good grade for it and Linda wanted it to be a part of the collection the box has a good color assembly and I thought of the color contras while drawing. I would call this a abstract box of contrasts because of the color complimentary system.

The last four pictures are  a few test of the contrast that the pencil can make , where there is one particular which shows how the pencil can be used to make shadows on the box picture number one  I choose to have the light shining up  at the bottom  which makes the top the darkest and the two you see the right and left squares will fade from being white to black it’s a three dimensional drawing drawn in a 2 point perspective this is the way most architects draw using the two point perspective also a top view and left and right this was a great exercise in pencil drawing.

With the chest and head project I started whit this basic wooden stick connected to the wooden plate.  I then put baking paper , I think its called that in English so that it would be simpler taking the head of the stick. But the point of the stick is also to make the head and neck less massive so we put the stick there to make a massive hole. the clay is called "crank" it is rough and has many hard not very fine pieces of hardened clay  . It is put in there to make the clay shrink less when it gets dry.

I used this kavalete to spin the head around so I could work in a simpler way, I didn’t always like using this sometimes I wanted the head steady and not moving. I didn’t use much of sculpting pins of any type I like sculpting with my finger I  get a better feeling of the clay and am able to do things more precise.

the eyes are closed because of the simplicity behind the closed eye and the mouth is shut and as u might see a slight glimpse of here is that he only has one ear. This came to me as a difficulty making complete replica of the left ear so I made a little bandage and put it over the right side this is a Van Gough   replica or at least  the ears.

The forward facing shoulders are the balancing of the head. The big breast muscles  are also a forward pivoting point in the picture  I tried to make as much contras between bones and muscles I wanted it to seam as lifelike as possible. the eyebrows brings a light shade down on the eyes which make the closing of them more  realistic and the chin is pushed up under  to make a shadow down on the neck as I said I tried to make as much contras between muscle tissue and bones which I think I got pretty well.

En visuell fremstilling av et ordtak/utsagn (Photoshop)

I knew at first i wanted to use something that Steven Hawking has said, and from Steven Hawking i got the idea of using space as the main background for my picture because of  Stevens work with astrologie  and his theory of black holes. I choose the quote “ Intelligence is the ability to adapt to change “ which I like to refer to as the same theory as apex predators the strongest survive and that theory has been tested over thousands of years. the picture of space in the background I choose because of its enormous size which means greater quality  when making it smaller. I didn’t like the contras in the picture so I made little adjustments in the contras settings and ambiance .
The kitten came to me as a kind of fill in the picture and I made it fade out into the space to not make it stand out as much. the laser beams and explosion came as a joke in the picture and the explosion  I might refer to super nova a star exploding, Which I once again refer to Steven and connects to his quote. My first design which I didn’t use for this project.
